a value-driven mission

The concept of Body Sovereignty was born from a choice to radically pivot from the messages that keep us quiet and small and questioning ourselves.

Our goal is to move the dialogue beyond acknowledging and believing survivors and into the process of healing.

To know that it happens, to know how the healing happens, to call people on their bullshit, and to point out how misogyny and patriarchy make things more difficult.

This isn’t about one person or one story.

This is about deepening a conversation, creating connection, and educating people.

When sexual assault hits the news cycle, comments swell about believing survivors and people wave flags saying they support survivors, but so few actually know how to swim in the open waters of trauma. The Body Sovereignty Project exists to bridge the gap between survivors and their supporters.
